Saturday 26 August: Wendy, who won the Oxfordshire area final in the National Seniors competition, lost her first round match to Gillian Hill of Eastbourne, Sussex in the national finals at Leamington Spa today by 21 - 7. (Gillian also won her 2nd round match and now plays in the quarter final tomorrow.)
Tuesday 18 July: Congratulations to Wendy who won her area final match in the National Seniors competition yesterday. She defeated Caroline Campion of Banbury by 21 - 15 and now proceeds to the finals at Leamington Spa in August.
Thurs 6 July: Wendy won her match against Dawn Hewitt of Banbury Chestnuts by 21-12 and is now into the area (Oxfordshire) final. Congratulations!
Friday 30 June: Wendy and Elaine played a National Senior (Over 55) Pairs match at 2.00pm at Shiplake losing to a very good pair from Oxford City & County (Margaret Morris and Carol Gaskins) 11 - 21.
Sunday 25 June: Wendy C played Wendy Sandy (Carterton, Oxon) in the National Senior (Over 55) Singles at Shiplake and won by 21 shots to 15.
Saturday 3 June: Elaine and Wendy defeated Jeanette Berry and Sue Mayo of Oxford City & County in the National Senior Pairs (over 55) first round by 21-8. The Oxford C&C pair retired after 16 ends.
Friday 12 May: Elaine Robinson & Sue Reid lost their pairs match against Helen Turner + 1 from Charlbury in Round 2 of the National Pairs Competition (BOL section) at Charlbury. Elaine & Sue had a bye in the first round but will now progress no further.
Wendy & Sylvia also played their first match in this competition on Sunday 14th and also lost.

Sunday 10th July: Wendy C and Sylvia B play their first County Pairs match against a pair from West Witney, having received byes in the first and second rounds. The match is at Shiplake at 10am.
Friday 1st July: Elaine R and Margaret B played Karen Alder and partner from West Witney in the 3rd round of the county pairs. The result was .....
Thursday 30th June: Wendy C & Elaine R played Caroline Campion and Carole Galletly in the 3rd round of the National Over 55 Pairs. The result was ...
Thursday 23rd Jun: Elaine and Margaret played in the 2nd round of the county pairs, beating their Kidlington opposition 29 - 3 at Kidlington. The opposition conceded after End 14.
Saturday 18th June: Elaine was travelling reserve for Oxfordshire against Sussex in the Inter-County 'Johns Trophy' (South Section) knockout competition, 1st round. Oxfordshire lost 107 - 144.
Wednesday 15th Jun: Wendy and Elaine played in the second round of the National Over 55s Pairs against Jeanette Berry and Sue Mayo from Oxford City & County and won 14 - 8.
Monday 13th Jun: Wendy, Ruth and Sylvia played in a County Triples match against Liz Kemish, Jodie Flitter and Zoe Pratley at Oxford City & County Bowls Club and lost 5 - 19.
Saturday 4th Jun: Wendy played a National Over-55 singles match at Shiplake and lost 21 - 8 to Karen Alder of West Witney.
Thursday 2nd Jun: Wendy played a first round County Singles match and beat Jody Flitter at Oxford City & County, 21 - 6.
Friday 27 May: Ruth C kindly stood in for Margaret B, who had Covid, in the County Pairs. Ruth and Elaine beat a couple from Charlbury 17-13.
Thursday 26 May: Wendy C and Elaine R played Helen Comley & Priscilla Clarke at Woodstock in the National Over 55s Pairs and won a close match 15-12.
Tuesday 24 May: Wendy C and Elaine R played for Oxfordshire v Wiltshire at Witney. Unfortunately, they lost their rink and Oxfordshire lost the match.
Sunday 10th Apr: Wendy C, Margaret B, Sylvia B, Jean B, Ruth C and Elaine R have all entered Oxfordshire and/or National competitions for 2022. Follow their progress in later bulletins here. No men from Shiplake have entered this year.

This morning, playing in the Oxfordshire U25 pairs final, KATIE BLAND ( Shiplake) & JAZZ ALDER (West Witney ) defeated a pair from Oxford City and County Bowls Club 25-10 to win the title and so are crowned Oxfordshire U25 COUNTY PAIRS CHAMPIONS.
They will now represent Oxfordshire at the National Championship at Leamington in August. Jim's a very proud Dad.
Next weekend Katie & Jazz go head to head when they play each other in the Oxfordshire U25 Singles Championship.

Katie Bland has reached the final of the Oxfordshire U25 singles this morning at Oxford City and County bowls club . Unfortunately her opponent didn’t show so giving her the game. Tomorrow (Sunday) she teams up with Jazz Alder (West Witney) to play in the Oxfordshire U25 pairs Championship final. If they win, they will represent Oxfordshire in the National Championship finals at Leamington next month.

Daphne, Jackie and Jean W, play Wendy, Elaine and Jean B in the Quarter Finals of the “Bowls Oxfordshire Ladies” County Triples on Monday 12th 2.30 at home
On Wednesday 14th 2.30, at City and County, Sylvia and Jackie play in the Semi Finals of the Women’s Senior Pairs. The winners will play Daphne and Jean W in the Regional Final.
Sylvia and Jackie play in the Quarter Final of the BOL National Pairs Championship on Sunday 18th 10.30 at home,

Daphne, Jean W, Jean B and Jackie are playing in the semi-final of the County Fours at City and County on Sunday.
Jim is representing Oxfordshire against Buckinghamshire at Tilehurst on Sunday. On Monday he plays in the four wood singles at home 6.15pm
Daphne and Jean Webb have a senior pairs match at home on Tuesday at 1.00pm.

Elaine and Sue P lost their county pairs game at West Witney on Sunday, but Sylvia and Jackie will try to avenge the defeat when they play the winning pair in the next round at home on Sunday 18th July at 10.30.
Today, during the afternoon, Daphne, Jackie and Jean W played well as a team to beat a triple from Banbury Central.
Later in the day, Wendy, Elaine and Jean B had a close encounter with a young City and County triple, but pulled ahead in the last few ends to win convincingly.
Congratulations to our Captain, Jim, who has been selected to play in the Oxfordshire Middleton cup side. Jim’s first game is against Buckinghamshire at Tilehurst on Saturday 10th July.

Daphne, Jean W, Jean B and Jackie beat a four from City and County this morning and now go into the semi finals at City and County next Sunday 4th July.
Wendy is playing Carol Gaskins in the England Senior singles at Headington on Thursday 1st July at 2.00pm. A win would mean a trip to Leamington for the regional finals.
Jim plays his next round of the County singles at home on Monday 5th July at 6.15.
